Our History
Since 1986, Rainbow Montessori Multicultural School has enjoyed a reputation as the finest Montessori in our community. Our goal is to foster the innate creativity in each child, and help maximize his/her potential, while still being a kid!
RMMS accepts children ages 12 months to 5 years old and provide a caring environment in a Montessori classroom setting . We offer low student/teacher ratios and a Multicultural program that includes Spanish, S.T.E.M., Music, Art, Fine Arts, Music, Gardening, Yoga, P.E and Computer.
Our school is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), Broward County Childcare Licensing and Enforcement, the Early Learning Coalition, registered at the Florida Department of Education and meets the standards of excellence Montessori educators offer around the world.
Rainbow Montessori is an active member of the American Montessori Society and our teachers are CPR and First Aid Trained. In addition, all our teachers are trained to practice inclusion in the classroom where every single student is treated with the same compassion.
OUR ENVIRONMENTS
At our school, each classroom is a carefully prepared environment, designed to inspire curiosity and honor each child’s unique journey. Our environment Nest, is for children ages 1–3. It is a gentle and nurturing space where little ones begin their first steps toward independence. Here, daily life is filled with beauty and purpose—art, music, yoga, P.E., and gardening invite joyful exploration, while practical life activities, sensorial experiences, and language work lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
Mockingbirds and Penguins, our environment for children ages 3–5, is a lively and enriching space where independence blossoms and curiosity thrives. Each day invites purposeful work and joyful exploration—art, music, yoga, P.E., and gardening nurture creativity and movement, while Spanish and STEM spark new ways of thinking. Through lessons in language, mathematics, practical life, motor development, and sensorial education, children build strong foundations for both academic growth and a lifelong love of learning.
Flamingos is a lovingly prepared environment that welcomes children of all ages. Rooted deeply in Montessori philosophy and enriched with an inclusive spirit, this space invites learners of diverse needs to flourish together. Here, each child’s unique strengths are honored and nurtured through art, P.E., music, yoga, gardening, and sensorial exploration. In this thoughtfully designed setting, students receive individualized guidance—whether it’s through speech or occupational support—so they can grow with confidence, independence, and a shared sense of belonging in our caring community.
Mission
Rainbow Montessori Mission Statement
Maria Montessori, a physician, using the scientific method, studied how children learn best and developed a curriculum, which has been used successfully, for more than one hundred years, with children from all countries and cultures.
She made a difference in children’s lives. Her work emphasized an individualized lesson, utilizing more than one sense at a time, providing immediate feedback as to the correctness or incorrectness of the child’s work in an environment of love and respect.
Scientific Observation has established that education is not what the teacher gives; education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment. The task of the teacher becomes that of preparing a series of motives of cultural activity, spread over a specially prepared environment, and then refraining from obtrusive interference. Human teachers can only help the great that is being done. Doing so, they will be witnesses to the unfolding of the human soul and to the rising of a New Era where people will not be the victim of events, but will have the clarity of vision to direct and shape the future of human society.
